Anthony Johnson is a Burlington native who has worked internationally as an actor and dancer. Select performance credits include: “Romeo & Juliet” with The Joffrey Ballet at Lincoln Center (David H. Koch Theatre) in New York City; the world premiere of Susan Misner & Jonathan Bernstein’s new dance play “Here in the Bright Colorado Sun” at the O’Neill Theatre Center; the title role in “Pippin” at Phoenix Theatre; various regional productions of “West Side Story” (Tony, Action, A-Rab); “Gypsy” starring Tony nominee Sally Mayes (Tulsa). The Broadway National Tour of “Hairspray” (IQ). Anthony has also worked as associate choreographer to Mary Ann Lamb. Their work on “Evita” at Western Connecticut State University was honored with a Distinguished Choreography Award by the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival. The duo also choreographed “DISASTER!” at CT Repertory Theatre last summer starring the show’s creator Seth Rudetsky, with Broadway veterans Anne L. Nathan and Angie Schworer. Anthony was also at The York Theatre Company off-Broadway, where he choreographed their summer musical theatre intensive showcase.
