Dueling Divas

Every year, a select group of dynamic individuals, known as “divas,” are chosen to participate in a spirited competition aimed at raising crucial funds for Studio 1. From February to June, these divas channel their creativity and passion into hosting personal events and fundraisers, each uniquely designed to captivate and engage their supporters. Additionally, supporters can contribute directly by voting for their favorite diva, purchasing raffle tickets to win prize baskets with proceeds credited to their chosen diva, and securing tickets to our grand finale event, Dueling Divas, in June. This is a celebration of months of dedication and fundraising efforts, one diva will be crowned the ultimate victor by raising the most funds. How To Support Your Diva

1) Buy a ticket and attend our Dueling Divas event the night of June 1st at 7:30. Tickets are $25 per person and you can purchase on our ticketing site.

2) Make a donation in honor of your favorite diva. How? You guessed it. Go to the website and use the donate button on the homepage and put the name of the diva in the comments that you want to get credit for your donation.

3) Attend a a Diva event! Our Divas plan fun and unique events that run February-May. Check our website and social media for details!

Maddie Almers

R. David Boss Jr.

David is pleased to be selected as a Diva for Studio 1’s 24/25 season. David was last seen on Studio 1’s stage as Peter in the Wilver’s project The Father and before that as Dr Gibbs in the Collier’s project Our Town. David’s favorite roles include Stephan in Godspell, Daddy Warbucks in Annie!, Billy in Anything Goes and Cornelius in Hello Dolly. David has also directed several productions, the most recent being Orange Community Player’s Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. David has been in and around theater since he was a young boy. David is very thankful to his wife Holly, his son, Brendan and his daughter, Jessica all whom he loves very much!

Noah Daulton

Noah Daulton is very grateful for this different and fun experience! Some of his favorite past roles include Booth in Assassins (Triad Pride), Cinderella’s Prince in Into The Woods (Lexington Live), Huey in Memphis (CTG), Wiesel in Newsies (NC Theatre), Gaston in Beauty and the Beast (HPCT), and John Adams in 1776 (Studio 1). He sends his thanks and love to his family and friends for all their support.

Nevy Fisher

Nevy Fisher is a 18 year old Senior at The Burlington School. Nevy has performed in Studio 1 and Alamance Children’s Theater productions for 11 years. Favorite roles include The Baker’s Wife (Into the Woods), Annie (Annie, Jr), Dromio of Ephesus (The Comedy of Errors), Sour Kangaroo (Seussical, Jr). and Ben/Lisa (Disaster!) Nevy is thrilled to be a Diva this year and is so excited to raise money for the community that has quite literally raised her 🙂

Kayden Kurgat

Kayden Kurgat is 17 years old and will be attending ACC this upcoming august 2024. She has been in multiple studio 1 productions but favors her role as Charon in The Lightning Thief. She loves the studio and how it continues to evolve each year and can’t wait to see what the future has in store for it.

Rosie Misner

Rosie is honored to be a Diva for 2025! Her favorite roles at Studio 1 include Ariel (The Little Mermaid), Cinderella (Into the Woods), and Woman 1 (Lucky Stiff). Ever since her first show at Studio 1 in the ensemble of Sweeney Todd, Rosie knew that she found where she belonged, and even decided it was the perfect place for her wedding! Soli Deo Gloria!

Maggie Moore

Maggie Moore is a retired teacher and the mother of 2 beautiful daughters. She graduated from Catawba College with a BA in theater, where she performed in School for Scandal, The Runner Stumbles, and The Case of the Crushed Petunias. She first became involved in The Snow Camp Outdoor Theater as a teenager in 1979. Over the last 45 years she has had roles at SCOT in The Sword of Peace, Pathway to Freedom, Annie and Shakespeare by Moonlight. Behind the stage she has done makeup for Driving Miss Daisy, and MatchMaker at the Paramount theater and co-produced Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She is very excited about being a 2025 Diva at Studio 1.

Troy Suter

Troy Suter is so excited to be a Diva for Studio 1, where he made his music theater debut in 2021 with Sweeney Todd! Since then, he’s performed in Studio 1’s The Scarlet Pimpernel, as well a variety of local films and radio plays. He and his wife, Courtney, create dance short films and run a wedding dance choreography business together. He wants to thank her, his family, friends, and, of course, Studio 1!

Madeline Wilvers

Madeline Wilvers is so excited to be a Diva for Studio 1! Madeline’s first show with the Studio was over a decade ago, at their previous location. Since then, she has continued to be involved both onstage and off. From being on the Junior Board her senior year of high school, to being a summer intern and Summer Camp counselor in college, to taking voice lessons and being a Diva now- with countless plays and musicals throughout! Madeline was seen most recently as Inky and Liz in Theatre Now. She hopes everyone is ready for a great season of Diva fundraisers!
